For All of Your Small Engine and Cycle Repair Needs

Before
After

Now this is my pride and joy, here!

You can see that I bought this bike almost in kit form. I mean I literally had to carry pieces out in boxes! After a little time and hair-pulling, I got it back together and let me tell you - this thing will run. I did little aesthetic work on it here and there - recover the seat, paint the body panels, shine it up...

As soon as I got it, I had to rebuild the carburetors and do a general tuneup before putting everything back together. I have since had to replace the rear alternator cover panel (it broke when the kick-start gear locked up), the kick-start gear, the water pump and the timimg belts. She started to run rough so I put her aside to ride my other motorcycle (the EN450). As soon as I get a chance, I am going to re-rebuild the carburetors (it's been sitting for a while) and maybe rework the heads - new valves, etc. I think that the lower end may need to be done, but that is a project for another day!

After I got this running, I found out that this particular model is an actual Limited Edition. On most things, LTD doesn't mean anything, but that's not the case with this bike. This is one out of only 2000 GL1000LTDs that were made. There's no telling how many are actually still around, but even if all 2000 were, it's still a collector's item!
